Murray launched Next Exec in 2004 based on his experience in executive recruiting and retailing. As owner/operator, Murray focuses on client development and key executive searches for the Retail and Hospitality industries.

Previously, Murray was a Senior Account Executive with Management Recruiters International (MRI) where he grew the retail portfolio. Murray’s career started with national retail chains where he held progressive management capacities with a focus on talent acquisition and store operations.

Murray earned his Bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University.



Karen joined Next Exec in 2005 and excels at developing key account relationships in the Retail and Banking industries. In addition to managing projects and facilitating hires, Karen works closely with newly hired employees as they move through the resignation process and transition period.

Previously, Karen founded à la main and grew a handbag manufacturing business. Over more than a decade, à la main distributed merchandise through retail & wholesale channels and flourished with sales reps throughout the United States.

Karen earned her Bachelor’s degree from Boston University.
